THANK YOU NOTES FROM SCHOOLS
ENC HAS DONATED TO BELL MIDDLE SCHOOL’S “SCIENCE IS FUN” PROGRAM FOR FIVE YEARS. FROM BELL MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Science is Fun, Science is Everywhere!
Science is everywhere in today’s world. At Bell Middle School we strive to help students transfer their learning in our science classes to their daily lives. This means observing and making sense of the science in cooking, gardening, recycling, health and wellness, weather events and more. Science and technology are transforming our lives at an incredible pace and we want to make sure our students are prepared for the future. It is essential that our students can transfer their science learning to the real world problems that our communities face today.
In order to assist our students in seeing that science is everywhere (and fun) we want to give them an opportunity to explore how science impacts their world and then share their new found knowledge , skills and understanding with community members, both young and old. This year students in our 7th grade honors classes will be choosing a real world issue and then creating science models/investigations that can be used to demonstrate the science behind the issue for their community. Additionally our iSTEM students are participating in a science fair this year and are currently designing scientific investigation related to a real world problem and/or question. Both of these activities are helping our students learn to think critically about science and the role that it plays in our world.
The Educational Non-Profit Corporation provides the money for supplies to assist them with these important tasks. Without this support, we would not be able to provide the enrichment for our students.

WELCHESTER ELEMENTARY PTA
Thank you for supporting matching funds for schools. Welchester Elementary is located in the Golden area and our children feed into both Bell Middle School and Golden High School. Currently, there is an enrollment of 324 students at Welchester Elementary. Our school has about 62% of students receiving free or reduced lunch and is a Title I school. Donations like yours help make a difference in student enrichment.
For the past couple years our fund-raising has been focused on technology for both classroom and Library Information Center (LIC) use. In addition we have provided new playground equipment. We also provide funding for books for the classrooms, field trip bus assistance, author visits, science fair, Welchester University, field day and serve as host to several family events including donuts for dads, mornings with moms and goodies for grandparents.
Our school is still looking at adding more technology as well as playground equipment and a display board for the front of the school. Any matching donation from the Education Nonprofit Corporation would help. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jodie Matsuo
PTA President
